Trainspotting in Wales

VoR Engine #8's footplate is a model of cleanliness and good order.  Though built as coal-burners, the line's steam locomotives have been converted to sparkless oil burning to assuage the fears of forestry officials: the new solid firebox plate with its inspection portal replacing the old butterfly doors is prominent in this view.  The driver's lubricating oil can sits on the ledge on the backplate; a plaque in the uppermost corner of the cab warns enginemen never under any circumstances to lean out of the cab when near bridges, tunnels, loadgauges, or coal stages!
