| The electric token machine or EKT at Pendre, which controls the section Pendre-Brynglas. The token machine is the round-topped red device; the tokens themselves are the key-shaped aluminum objects in the slots. The machine will not release a token unless and until it has confirmed, via an interlocking circuit, that no other tokens have been issued for the section of track which it controls.
